This is unlikely. A windshield is made of laminated glass and consists of a plastic compound called polyvinyl butyral (or PVB), which prevents the glass from shattering.

How does the windshield repair process work?
A windshield repair involves introducing a product under pressure into the chip. The process restores the windshield to its original strength and reduces the appearance of the damage.
Can you guarantee that the chip will be invisible after the repair has been completed?
No. A windshield chip repair prevents further damage to your glass and restores the structural integrity of the vehicle. Following a repair, a slight blemish or imperfection where the impact occurred is normal. However, in most cases, you’ll notice a big improvement in the appearance of your windshield. If this is not the case, we will credit the cost of the repair either towards a new windshield or, in the case of an insurance claim, back to the insurance company when the windshield is replaced.
